This vintage original WWII nutrition poster was issued by the United States Department of Agriculture in 1943 to encourage Americans to eat a healthy balanced diet as part of the overall war effort. This poster features the classic pie diagram illustrating the seven basic food groups with an image of an idealized American family at the center and text that reads U.S. Needs Us Strong – Eat The Basic 7 Every Day. Text across the top of the poster reads – For Health…eat some food for each group…every day!
This vintage original poster looks pretty well unused with no tape or pinholes and only slight handling wear and a tiny nick at the intersection of the top fold lines. The colors remain strong and overall condition is excellent.
