This United States Navy poster was created by the artist Herbert Paus during the First World War. A jaunty sailor loads shells for a naval gun under the poster title “Help Deliver The Goods” with the exhortation “DO IT NOW” underscoring the image in red block capitals and adding urgency to the message. This poster is overprinted with the address of the U.S. Navy Recruiting Station in Trenton, New Jersey.

This hard to find poster is a vintage original produced during WWI. The poster was clean and retains its bold color well. The poster had a long vertical tear and a couple short tears on the edges but no loss or decay to the paper. The tears were expertly repaired when the poster was linen backed and the final result is magnificent. This rare poster displays beautifully and would be a great addition to any collection.
