This rare WWII poster was issued by the American Field Service in early 1942 shortly after the United States entered the war. The AFS was an ambulance organization founded during WWI and reactivated in 1939 at the onset of WWII. The AFS used American volunteers to drive ambulances and perform of other duties and counted Walt Disney, Earnest Hemingway and others among its alumni. This rare poster, created by the artist John Scott Williams, is almost impossible to find. This unbacked and unrestored poster is printed on think paper and shows some bumping on the margin along the left edge, modest toning from age and light handling wear. Overall condition is very good.
