This vintage original and rare WWII poster was issued in 1943 and targeted to the American wood and forest products industry that provided essential materiel to the war effort. This poster features a US Army Air Corps plane silhouetted against ominous skies with the tagline WOOD FLIES TO WAR – The Army & Navy Need 20,000 Square Feet Of Plywood For Each Cargo Plane. The American War Machine used a greater tonnage of wood than of steel during WWII and even launched a special Timber Production War Project to help ensure output needed for the greatly increased demand.

This poster is folded as issued and shows slight toning from age and moderate handing wear including slight creasing at the top and bottom center and some bumping to the edges and corners in places.  The poster is free of tape or pinholes.  Overall condition is very good.
