This vintage original WWII poster was issued by the United States Treasury in 1944 to promote the sale of bonds in conjunction with the 6th War Loan. This is the full size “one sheet” version of this poster measuring about 40” x 28.5”.

The face of an American Marine floats in space and scowls at the island nation of Japan next to the image of a large bomb falling on a Japanese Rising Sun flag. The 6th War Loan ran from November 2nd to December 16th, 1944 by which time the Allies were advancing on all fronts in Europe and the collapse of Nazi Germany seemed imminent. The defeat of Japan was a greater challenge for the Allies at this point in the war as the island nation was heavily fortified and its defenders prepared to fight to the last. This poster illustrated the shift in strategy to a more intense focus on the Pacific theatre.

This vintage original poster does not appear to have ever been used and is in excellent, near mint condition with just the slightest of handling wear.
