This rare WWII poster was issued by the Recruiting Publicity Bureau of the United States Army in early 1944. This poster is one in the “Woman’s Place in War” series that targeted the recruiting of women for service in the United States Army.  The poster’s artwork by Ramus features a woman soldier serving as a Topographical Draftsman and reminds that 239 different jobs were to open to women in the United States Army in 1944 when this poster was issued.  The lower margin is printed with the insignia of the US Army Recruiting Publicity Bureau and is dated 4-5-44 so thus the date. The lower margin of the poster is overprinted with an announcement that May 11 to May 17 was Motion Picture Theaters WAC Recruiting Week.  This is a rare poster is any size and this is the full size large format version.

This vintage original poster is fully complete and in very good condition overall showing light handling wear, modest toning from age and pinholes on the upper corners. This poster has a small spot near the lower right hand corner and it looks like the top and bottom edges were folded back about two inches from the edges leaving a lateral fold line crease along the top and bottom edges.   The poster retains strong color, displays beautifully and is in very good condition overall.
