This vintage original WWII poster was issued by the United States Treasury in 1945 to promote the sale of War Bonds. A burly fist clenching a handful of United States War Bonds is raised in the air. Behind it rises the colossal Neoclassical arm of the Statue of Liberty lifting her lamp beside the golden door, a sight that had greeted the huddled masses yearning to breathe free for some 60 years at the time this poster was issued in 1945. The imagery of the American hand gripping war bonds and the Statue of Liberty gripping her torch as a symbol of freedom are striking. The poster reminds us that 85 million Americans held war bonds which is remarkable when you consider that the total population of the United States was only about 140 million in 1945.

This vintage original has no tape or pinholes and shows moderate handling wear including some bumping along the bottom right and upper left edges.  There is a small nick off the margin on the upper left hand corner.   Overall condition is otherwise very good for this vintage original.
