This impressive Mid-Century poster is one in the “Atoms For Peace” series created by Swiss graphic designer Erik Nitsche for General Dynamics. The term “Atoms For Peace” was taken from the title of speech made by President Dwight Eisenhower in 1953 that launched a largescale Cold War era media campaign called Operation Candor. The intent of which was to influence the narrative as it related to an inevitable nuclear future. The lower margin indicates “Printed in Switzerland” and “Lithos R. Marsens, Lausanne”

This vintage original poster has been professionally backed to linen with minor touch up as need including expert mitigation to a bit of creasing near the top edge and repair to a couple short tears on the edges. This poster has rich color and displays beautifully. Please check our other listings for more posters from the Atoms For Peace series.
