This poster was issued by the American Red Cross to recruit nurses during WWII. An angelic nurse comforts a wounded G.I. just below the Red Cross symbol with the tag line Fighting Men Need Nurses. This poster was created by the artist John Whitcomb, a prolific magazine illustrator during his civilian career and veteran of the U.S. Navy during WWII who served as a combat artist at several major battles in the South Pacific.

This is an unrestored vintage original poster issued during WWII. The poster has moderate handling wear and couple small stains on the top and bottom edges from desiccated pieces of tape which dried up and fell off the poster. These tape stains are small and could be removed easily with linen backing if you wanted to do that otherwise the poster displays nicely as is with bold color.
