This is a vintage original WWII era workplace safety poster issued by the Lumbermen’s Mutual Casualty Company. This is a small format poster featuring a Modernist style photomontage design of a man in work overalls dropping large wooden crate on his foot with text that reads:

Take FIRM Grip – Accidents Help The Enemy – Keep Your Feet Clear, Wear Safety Shoes

This poster has a 1939 copyright by James S. Kemper, President of the Lumbermen’s Mutual Casualty Company but references to helping “the Enemy” suggest this was issued after the United States entered WWII in December 1941. The lower left hand corner is printed “Safety Bulletin No. 151” and “Post Conspicuously”. This vintage original poster has a single pinhole on the top center edge and moderate handling wear and some toning from age. Overall condition is very good. Email any questions. Thanks for looking.
