This vintage original cardboard poster sign was created by prolific American illustrator McClelland Barclay as an advertising piece for Beaumal Topcoats of Crosstwist. This cardboard sign has an extendable easel arm on the back and features an image of a dapper young man in gray topcoat and flat cap leaning nonchalantly against his yellow convertible roadster and picking flowers off a tree with his lady companion. McClelland Barclay’s signature appears in print in the lower right hand corner of the image with a 1923 copyright by the C.D. Slade Co. printed in the margin just below.
This sign has moderate handling wear including slight creasing in the image area in a couple spots. There is some light foxing in the borders around the sign and more pronounced foxing on the back of the sign not affecting the image. Overall condition is very good for this vintage original.
