This vintage original Triumph Motorcycle advertising poster was issued by the Triumph Engineering Co. Ltd. of Coventry, England in 1959 to celebrate the victories won by Triumph motorcycles and riders at the Scottish Six Day Trials.
The Scottish Six Days Trials began in 1909 and continue still today as the world’s oldest motorcycle trails competition. This poster has text that reads: SWEEPING VICTORY FOR TRIUMPH SCOTTISH SIX DAYS TRIAL and features photos of Triumph team members Arthur Ratcliffe and Roy Peplow on his 200cc Tiger Cub. The poster also lists the Triumph team winners all riding 200cc Tiger Cubs including Peplow for Best Performance and 200cc Class Award, L.R. Sayer for the Jimmy Beck Memorial Cup and G.A.L. Anderson (Sweden) for the Edinburgh Trophy.
This is the full size vintage original unused poster directly from a Triumph motorcycle dealer. This poster looks unused, is folded as issued and in excellent condition with just light handling wear and a brief notation written on verso not affecting the front. The lower margin indicates this poster was printed in England.
