This vintage original and rare poster was created as an advertising piece for the Lincoln National Life Insurance Company of Fort Wayne, Indiana by the artist Sheldon Hine. Hine is best remembered today for his work as a photographer but he also worked in other artforms including graphic design. Hine’s family moved to Fort Wayne during his sophomore year in high school and this poster produced around 1927 would be one of his earliest works as a professional artist. The poster is not dated but references the Lincoln National Life Insurance Company being in business 22 years which would date this to around 1927 as the company was chartered in 1905. This poster depicts a barnstorming biplane and highlights the company’s world record half a billion dollars of insurance in force with Hine’s signature appearing in print in the lower right hand corner.

This poster is a vintage original in very good condition with just some light handling and a bit of light foxing in near the lower corners and modest toning from age. The colors are strong and overall condition is very good.
