This is a vintage original Italian wine advertising hanger sign style poster for Vini Vaselli Orvieto created by the artist Carlo Ludovico Bompiani. This poster is printed one side only on lightweight cardboard and features an image of a woman smiling broadly and raising a handful of succulent grapes. The lower margin is printed “Grafiche O.S.A.C. – Roma” and “Bollo A Tergo”. Carlo was in the lineage of the great Bompiani family of Italian artists and is well remembered today as a designer of Italian movie posters among other things. Bampiani’s name is signed in print in the upper right hand corner of the image. The top center of the poster has two small holes for string hanger which is no longer present but could be easily replaced if desired.

This vintage original poster isn’t dated but we believe is likely from the late 1940s. This poster shows moderate handling wear, some toning from age and light scattered foxing in places. Overall condition is very good.
