This vintage original WWII era poster was issued by the Gulf Oil Company to help advertise the company’s Gulflex branded motor oil lubricants. This poster features an image of two soldiers enjoying a moment of levity as another solider in a military police uniforms looks on wryly.   Text on the poster bracketing the image reads Has a quieting effect - Gulflex Lubrication for your car. The lower margin is printed “Form SP2226 – To Be Posted February 1st to 15th – ALL DIVISIONS”.

This poster isn’t dated but appears to be late WWII era and was probably issued around 1945 or shortly thereafter. This vintage original poster has been professionally linen backed.   The poster was free of any tape or pinholes but did have a small notch off the lower margin not affecting the image area and a long diagonal tear at the bottom which were expertly repaired during the linen backing process.  There was also a short one inch tear at the top edge also expertly repaired during the linen backing process.   Other than these repairs as noted the poster was in excellent condition.
