This is a vintage original 1954 window card style concert poster for the 1954 5-Star Rhythm & Blues Revue at Chattanooga, Tennessee which featured an all-star lineup of legendary R&B and Blues performers including Muddy Waters, Ray Charles, Ruth Brown, Charles Brown and Lowell Fulson (misspelled Fulsom on the poster). This poster features photographic portraits of all five performers along with song titles for each. Amazingly Muddy Waters receives bottom billing in the lineup at what is probably the peak of his career in the mid 1950s. This window card is an original from the estate of the late Chattanooga radio personality and music promoter Ted Bryant. The bottom margin of the poster indicates the maker – Globe Poster, Baltimore.
This vintage original poster has had some expert restoration to cracks and peeling along the bottom edge of the poster and there is some toning along the left edge most evident toward the top of the poster. There is a very slight trace of staining along the left edge on the back of the poster not affecting the front side. The display quality for this vintage original window card is very good.
