This is a complete set of four vintage original promotional posters for The Beatles Yellow Submarine soundtrack album. The posters measure 29” x 21.25” and have been professionally linen backed. The bottom of each poster is printed “Columbia Special Products/CBS Records/New York” and has a 1968 copyright by King Features Syndicate – Subafilms, Ltd.
The Yellow Submarine album was released in January 1969 as the soundtrack of the 1968 Yellow Submarine animated film that had been released a few months prior. These posters were probably used for record store advertising and promotional purposes or as a merchandise tie-in to the album. The artwork for these posters was created by Heinz Edelmann who worked as art director and character designer on the Yellow Submarine animated film.
These vintage original posters are in excellent condition with just light handling wear and slight wrinkling which was expertly mitigated with the linen backing. These posters are hard to find individually and to get a complete set in excellent condition is next to impossible. This beautiful set will make a great centerpiece for any serious Beatles collector.
