This is a vintage original herald for the Academy Award winning 1970 American documentary film Woodstock based on the famous counterculture Woodstock music festival that took place in August 1969 near Bethel, New York.  This herald is four pages measuring about 12” x 15” or 30.5 cm x 38 cm per page.   

This film was directed by Michael Wadleigh in his directional debut and edited by Martin Scorsese among others and won the Academy Award Best Documentary Feature.   The film was both a commercial and critical success and was selected for inclusion in the Library of Congress’s United States National Film Registry.  The documentary features film of some of Woodstock’s most memorable moments and includes footage of performances by Crosby, Stills & Nash, Joan Baez, The Who, Joe Cocker, Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and many others.  

This vintage original herald for the 1970 first American release of Woodstock is full complete and well intact with only light handling wear including a slight crease to the upper right corner and modest toning from age.  Overall condition is very good.
