This vintage original poster was issued for the 1976 Broadway production of The Threepenny Opera at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre in New York City’s Lincoln Center complex. This poster features artwork by Paul Davis of Raul Julia as the male lead character Macheath for which Julia was nominated for a Best Actor Tony. The Threepenny Opera also gave us the classic standard Mack the Knife. The lower margin is printed “Artist: Paul Davis © 1976 The New York Shakespeare Festival, A Contemporary Poster Classic® distributed exclusively by Darrien House, Inc. New York City, Printed in the U.S.A.”.
