This is an original poster for the Karl Bodmer’s America exhibit at The Metropolitan Museum of Art held from July to October, 1985. This exhibition featured a volume of Bodmer's diary and 109 watercolors and prints documenting the historic expedition by Prince Maximilian and Karl Bodmer up the Missouri River into the Indian wilderness acquired by the United States as part of the Louisiana Purchase.  Bodmer's watercolors and prints were described as "the first accurate visual portrayals of the far western Indians to reach the public". This poster features Bodmer’s 1834 watercolor on paper Kiasax, Piegan Blackfeet Man and indicates the exhibit was organized by the Joslyn Art Museum of Omaha, Nebraska .

This poster is a vintage original from the 1985 Met exhibit. Overall condition is very good with just light handling wear.
