This vintage original poster advertises an exhibition of The Royal Scot train while en route from England to the 1933 Century of Progress World’s Fair in Chicago.  The Royal Scot was the state-of-the-art flagship train and pride of the London Midland & Scottish Railway of Great Britain.  The Royal Scot took a brief hiatus from its regular service between London and Glasgow to cross the Atlantic on the SS Beaverdale of the Canadian Pacific Steamship Company for display at the 1933 World’s Fair in Chicago.   The poster features an illustration of The Royal Scot by artist Pieter Irwin Brown over text that reads:

SEE THIS FAMOUS TRAIN EN ROUTE To “A CENTURY OF PROGRESS” CHICAGO

The bottom of the poster is overprinted in red letters to indicate “On Exhibition At Buffalo” at the Central Terminal on May 5 from 9:00am to 5:30pm.

The lower right corner indicates this poster was Printed in England by S.C. Allen & Company, 4, Lisle St., London, W.C.2

This vintage original poster has been professionally linen backed with minimal touch up as needed.  The original fold lines show lightly as does a crease to the lower left corner. Repair to a small bit of separation on the vertical fold line shows slightly at the bottom center of the poster.  The original colors are strongly retained, the poster displays beautifully and overall condition is very good.
