This is a portfolio or set of posters issued by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization). This set is fully complete and contains all eight posters in the original envelope or sleeve printed:
building for the future the world-wide work of UNESCO
The posters in this set are numbered one through eight and each feature a photographic image showing the work of UNESCO around the world and one showing the UNESCO headquarters in Paris along, all with explanatory text. Two of the photos are credited to noted French photographer and photojournalist Eric Schwab who is most remembered today for the extensive documentary photography he did of Nazi concentration camps at the end of WWII. The envelope for the set has a 1958 copyright and indicates “Printed in France”. The posters in this set are titled as follows:
1 – Building For The Future (UNESCO Headquarters Building in Paris)
2 – To Know Each Other
3 – New Life For Arid Lands (WHO)
4 – The Right To Learn (Eric Schwab)
5 – Providing Tools For Progress (Eric Schwab)
6 – Frontiers As Bridges Not Barriers
7 – Our Changing Lives
8 – UNESCO’S Work Is Yours
Poster #2 has a bit of very slight foxing at the bottom and all posters are otherwise in very good condition overall with just light handling wear. The outer sleeve or envelope shows moderate handling wear and some dust staining or light soiling not affecting the posters inside. Overall condition is very good.
