This vintage original 1972 poster is one of the first to be issued by the Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA was established by Presidency of Richard Nixon and began operations in December of 1970. This poster has a 1972 copyright by the USGPO printed in the lower margin dating to the early days of that agency which were characterized by an enormous sense of purpose and excitement. This poster features a closeup view of blade of grass with water droplets on it with the caption:
It is time for every member of our society to participate in the development of a new environmental ethic. Each of us must begin to realize our own relationship to the environment. Each of us must begin to measure the impact of our own decisions and actions on the quality of air, water, and soil of this nation.
This poster shows light toning from age and modest handling wear. Overall condition is very good. Please see our other listings for more vintage EPA posters from this series. t
