This vintage original 1972 poster is one of the first to be issued by the Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA was established by Presidency of Richard Nixon and began operations in December of 1970. This poster has a 1972 copyright by the USGPO printed in the lower margin dating to the early days of that agency which were characterized by an enormous sense of purpose and excitement. This poster features a ariel view of a combine harvesting corn with the caption:
We live in an age when quality of life must be measured in more than consumer goods and leisure time; it must also be measured by the beauty, durability and safety of the environment in which we live.
This poster shows light toning from age and modest handling wear. Overall condition is very good.
