This whimsical psychedelic style pictorial map poster of Gaum was issued by the Bush Advertising Agency of Agana, Guam and has a 1971 copyright date. This pictorial map features an elaborate and detailed view of Guam with many points of interest shown. An old Man-o-War ship decorated with Peace signs sails by above the title GAUM U.S.A. while a fantastical flying machine tows a banner that reads “GUAM U.S.A. Playground Of The Western Pacific”. The lower margin is printed with a 1971 copyright by the Bush Advertising Agency and “UKI International, Inc”. The name “S. Bush” is signed in the image near the lower right hand corner.
This vintage original pictorial map was picked up as a souvenir by a guy that spent time in Gaum as part of his tour of duty during the Vietnam War era. There is a bit of a light crease on the upper left hand corner area and light handling wear. There are a couple small spots on the poster that look like they could have be caused by desiccated rubber band and a small flat tear without loss of paper in the upper right hand corner. This rare pictorial map poster displays nicely and would be a great item for the Gaum collector or anyone interested in pictorial maps.
