This vintage original 1918 Canadian poster was issued to promote the sale of Victory Bonds during the First World War. This poster features an image of Canadian infantry charging forward with bayonets fixed above text that reads:
YOURS not to do and die – Yours but to go and buy VICTORY BONDS 1918
The text seems inspired by the famous line in Tennyson’s narrative poem Charge of Light Brigade – Theirs not to reason why, theirs to do and die.
This vintage original poster has been professionally conservation mounted to linen with some touch up as needed including some over painting and restoration to paper loss in the borders not affecting the image area. Overall condition is very good.
