This vintage original cartoon style poster was issued in 1942 to promote the sale of United States War Bonds. A woman in a pink nightgown digs for change in the pants pocket of a man lying in bed with one eye open who quips “Just be sure you put at least 10% of it in WAR BONDS!”. The lower margin has a document code of WSS 694-A which probably indicates this poster was used as part of the War Savings Stamps campaign in which Americans could purchase War Savings Stamps with small amounts of spare change and then, when enough stamps were accumulated, exchange the stamps for war bonds.
This vintage original poster is the small format version folded once across the middle as issued which was probably never hung up or used. The poster has no tape or pinholes and shows only light handling wear including a little less than a half inch of separation on the center fold line at the right edge. Overall condition is excellent.
