This vintage original poster with a patriotic red, white and blue color scheme was issued in 1942 to promote the sale of war bonds in the United States. An American soldier in older M1917 style helmet charges forward with M1 Garand rifle and fixed bayonet toward an unseen enemy. Ghostly figures of a welder, a farmer and factory workers appear in the background adding emphasis to the poster’s tagline – Let’s ALL Fight.
The message conveyed is that ALL Americans are in the fight including not only the soldiers on the warfront but also the farmers, factory workers and everyday people on the homefront. Appeals to patriotism and a sense of common cause, such as this poster, were among the most widely used and effective messages deployed to promote the sale of war bonds during WWII.
This vintage original poster is free of tape or pinholes and looks pretty well unused with just modest toning from age and light handling wear including a tiny nick off the tip of the upper left corner. Overall condition is excellent.
