This is a vintage original poster from the 1970 opening of Sugar Kane Train of the Lahaina, Kaanapali & Pacific Railroad which was a steam-powered, narrow gauge heritage railroad and tourist attraction on the Hawaiian island of Maui. The LKPRR paid homage to Hawaii’s railroad history and operated the 6-mile 40-minute Sugar Kane Train along an old line that had connected the sugarcane fields of Ka’anapali to the Pioneer Mill in Lahaina. The Sugar Kane Train operated as a tourist attraction from 1970 to 2014 and was severely damaged probably beyond recovery by the August 2023 Lahaina wildfire.
This poster has been reproduced but this is an original from the Sugar Kane Trains 1970 opening. This poster is free of any tape or pinholes and shows light handling wear and some toning from age on the back not affecting the front side. Overall condition is excellent.
