This is a vintage original poster for the 1974 opening of artist Manuel Lepe’s (1936-1984) Galerie Lepe in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.  Lepe was a native of Puerto Vallarta who, with no formal training as an artist, developed a celebrated and widely collected Naïve style painting mostly townscape and landscape’s of his hometown as it rose in prominence as an international travel and tourism destination.  This poster is an original issued on the occasion of Lepe opening his own gallery in Puerto Vallarta in 1974.  This poster features an example of Lepe’s artwork and a quote by American film maker and patron of Lepe John Huston that reads: 

Manuel Lepe makes paintings to bring joy to the hearts of the child in all of us

This vintage original poster for the 1974 grand opening of Galerie Pepe is free of tape or pinholes and shows only light handling wear including a small crease on the tip of the upper right corner.  Overall condition is very good.
