This vintage original travel poster highlighting the rich cultural traditions and historical points of interest in Mexico was issued around 1950 by Dirección General de Turismo, the country’s official governmental tourism authority. This poster features a vibrant montage of images in a pleasing Mid-Century style depicting Mexican culture including a Conchero or Aztec dancer, a Charro on horseback, a Trajinera flatbottom wooden boat and more. Also shown are historical buildings including the Palacio de Bellas Artes, the Monumento a la Revolucion among others and even the active volcano of Paricutin of the Michoacan region of Mexico. The artist is unknown but the style seems inspired by Miguel Covarrubias.
The lower left corner indicates this poster was printed in Mexico by Offset Galas. This vintage original poster is free of tape or pinholes and looks pretty well unused with only the slightest of handling. Overall condition is excellent.
