This vintage original English language poster promoting the Black Sea coast as a travel destination was issued by Intourist, the official travel and tourism bureau of the former Soviet Union. The poster features a stylized Atomic Age image of tourists enjoying the Black Sea coast at both day and night with the Intourist logo appearing in the upper left hand corner of the image area. The lower margin indicates a 1958 publication date. The coast of the Black Sea served as a sort of Riviera of the former Soviet Union and remains popular today with luxury resorts in Russia, Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, Georgia and Turkey.
This vintage original poster has been professionally linen backed with expert repair of pinholes on the corners, a couple short tears on the edges and slight creasing in places. There is a small area of replaced loss at the bottom center edge. The colors remain strong. The poster displays beautifully and overall condition is very good.
