This vintage original travel poster promoting the Soviet Union as a destination for hunting was issued by Intourist, the official Soviet travel authority, in the mid 1930s. The poster features an image of a red fox gamely darting through a thick forest of pine and ferns under the English language title Hunting In The U.S.S.R. The Intourist logo appears in the lower left corner and the lower right corner has the logo of Vneshtorgizdat, a major government publishing house established in Moscow in the 1920s.
This vintage original poster has been professionally conservation mounted to linen. The poster had a few small abrasions and short tears on the edges and a small notch about an inch deep off the right edge all of which were expertly repaired during the linen backing process rendering a truly magnificent poster. The poster was free or tape or pinholes and the colors retain their original vibrancy. Interested buyers are welcome to contact us for photos of the poster prior to linen backing. Overall condition is very good for this 1930s Intourist vintage original.
