This vintage original c.1960 travel poster was issued by Intourist, the official government tourism authority for the former Soviet Union. This poster features a stylized Mid-Century rendering of the Onion Domes of Novgorod’s ancient Cathedral of St. Sophia. The poster carries the German language caption Die Perle der altrussischen architektur which translates to “The Pearl of Old Russian Architecture.” This artist’s name appears in the image but we haven’t quite deciphered the name.

This vintage original poster shows light handling wear including some slight creasing in the image and a bit of creasing along the lower edge. The poster has no tape or pinholes and shows strong color. Overall condition is very good.
