This vintage original Italian travel poster was created by the prolific poster artist Franz Lenhart to promote Cortina in the Italian Alps as winter sports travel destination.   This poster features the image of a young fellow riding a sled and poised to throw a snowball at the viewer and generally looking like he’s having the time of his life over the title Neve Sole Sport which translates to Snow Sun Sport in English.   This poster design with slight variations was reused a few times until at least the mid 1950s but we believe this particular poster offered here, printed with the date 16 November 1934 on the right margin, is likely the first edition.  The bottom edge is printed “Offset – R.R. Officine Grafiche Longo & Zoppelli – Treviso” and Lenhart’s signature appears in print on the lower right side.  

This vintage original poster has been professionally linen backed with some minimal expert touch up as needed. Two short tears on the top edge without paper loss had been repaired with small pieces of tape on the back of the poster which were removed and neutralized during the linen backing process.  The original colors are retained and the poster is otherwise in excellent condition.  Contact us with any questions or to receive photos of the poster prior to linen backing.
