This exuberant poster was issued by the Japan Travel Bureau in 1952 and features an image from one the country’s Matsuri or festivals with the title Shrine Festival. Japan has more festivals than any other country in the world and this poster conveys the tradition, color an excitement of these often spectacular occasions. The lower margin is printed “Printed By Toppan Printing Co. Ltd. – PD33-EPO7 – 10526”.
This poster is very clean, was never hung and has no tape or pinholes. The poster shows a bit of bumping along the right edge near the upper right hand corner and is otherwise in excellent condition.
