1955 Ireland Invites You Land of Legend Springtime Festival Muriel Brandt

This variant poster is overprinted with advertising for the An Tostal Springtime Festival of Irish culture which was held for three weeks in May of 1955. Blue lettering on a beige background with the words “Ireland Invites You” is silkscreened over lettering that originally read “Ireland Is Waiting To Welcome You” which I believe occurred when the Irish tourism authority updated their advertising slogan in the early 1950s. The lower margin is printed “Printed in the Republic of Ireland by Hely’s Ltd, Dublin” and “Issued by The National Tourist Publicity Organisation”. .

This poster is a vintage original which was never hung and is in very good condition with modest toning from age and light handling wear.
