This lovely poster was created by the artist Muriel Brandt and issued by the National Tourist Publicity Organisation in the early 1950s.   This is the earlier version of the poster which uses the advertising slogan "Ireland is waiting to welcome you!". Another variant of this same poster was issued by 1955 with the text updated to read "Ireland Invites You".  The lower margin is printed “Printed in the Republic of Ireland by Hely’s Ltd, Dublin” and “Issued by The National Tourist Publicity Organisation”. .

This poster is a vintage original which has been professionally conservation mounted to linen.   Short tears and small abrasions on the edges have been repaired during the linen backing process as have small notches off the bottom edge and lower right edge.  A pencil mark near the lower right corner shows lightly after the linen backing process.  The poster displays nicely and overall condition is very good.
