This delightful Mid-Century travel poster promoting the Ribatejo province of Portugal was created by the artist Gustavo Fortoura and issued in 1959.  For this poster Fortoura renders a colorful scene of a Portuguese man wrangling a bull under a brilliant sun.   The artist’s name is signed in print on the left edge of the image and the lower margin indicates “Printed In Portugal By Lito. Portugal – Lisboa”.  This poster is printed with the name and address of the official Portuguese government tourism office in New York City as Casa De Portugal, 477 Madison Avenue, New York.  

This vintage original poster is free of tape and shows light handling wear and two pinholes on each of the upper corners.   The poster has a short tear of about an inch and half on the left edge near the lower corner and another half inch tear a little higher up on the left edge but nothing torn off or missing.   The colors retain their original vibrancy and the poster displays beautifully.  Overall condition is very good.
