This is a vintage original poster promoting Austria as a skiing destination issued by the Scandinavian Airlines System SAS Airline. This poster features an idyllic view of a gondola and ski lodge set against spectacular mountain scenery with text that reads:
ALL THIS FOR $4. A DAY FLY SAS JETS – AUSTRIA SCANDINAVIAN AIRLINES SYSTEM
The lower margin indicates “Photo Risch-Lau” and “Printed in Austria – For The Austrian Federal Government By G. Gistel & Cie., Vienna”. Also printed in the lower right corner is the document code “B 6029” which probably indicates a 1960 printing date. The poster isn’t otherwise dated but you have go back many years to ski in Austria for $4 per day. The ski lodge shown in the image has the name “SONNENBURG” visible and appears to be the Sonnenburg Hotel near Ehrwald in Austria’s Tyrol state known worldwide for fabulous skiing.
This vintage original poster has no tape or pinholes and shows just light handling wear including edges lightly bumped in spots and a couple slight scuffs. The poster was probably never hung up or used. Overall condition is very good for this vintage original.
