This is one of several delightful Mid-Century posters done by Stan Galli for United Air Lines. New York City has no shortage of iconic landmarks but perhaps none of them capture the grandeur of the “city that never sleeps” more aptly than Galli’s choice of the Statue of Liberty. For almost 140 years she has lifted her lamp beside the golden door and greeted the huddled masses yearning to breathe free as a symbol not only of New York City but of the American Dream writ large.

This poster isn’t dated but was produced in the early 1960s. This poster has been professionally linen backed. There is some restoration to paper loss along the edge at the lower right hand corner as well as some expert overpainting to mitigate spots and small defects within the image. The poster displays nicely and is in very good condition overall. Contact us for further information as needed.
