This vintage original travel poster for Nice on Cote D’Azur in France features a work of Henri Matisse who had spent much of his life living in that city. The poster features the Matisse work Danseuse Creole which the artist was inspired to create in 1950 after seeing the African American dancer Katherine Dunham. The lower margin indicates a 1965 publication date and “Printed in France” by Mourlot of Paris.
This is an unrestored vintage original poster with moderate handling wear including some slight creasing in the image area and lightly bumped edges. The poster has a single pinhole on then upper right hand corner and a tiny nick off the tip of the upper left hand corner. The colors remain bold and the poster displays very well. Overall condition is very good.
