This vintage original Switzerland travel poster is one of many created by the prolific Swiss graphic designer Herbert Leupin. For this poster Leupin renders an image of a “S” shaped road (for Switzerland) winding through an idyllic Swiss countryside. Locals are seen playing golf and tennis, fishing, hiking, painting and resting under the shade a tree blooming with flowers in a mystical gingerbread world untouched by the passage of time or the cares of a distant world.
This is the English language edition of this poster which was also issued in French and German language editions. The title All Roads Lead To Switzerland is printed across the bottom of the poster. This poster prints the words “Reduction On The Petrol Price” below the title which doesn’t appear on some other variations of this poster. The lower left corner indicates “Printed in Switzerland by Art. Institut Grafica Ltd. Basle” and shows the Swiss National Tourist Office (SNTO) logo.
This vintage original poster has been professionally backed to linen with some small expert touchup as needed including repair to couple short tears without paper loss on the top edge. The colors retain their original sharpness and the poster displays very well. Overall condition is very good.
