This beautiful poster was issued by the Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad in the late 1940s or early 1950s to promote travel and tourism to the desert southwest and the “Land of the Pueblos” in New Mexico. The colorful image features the peoples of a New Mexico pueblo depicted with elements of a Modernist design. The artist of this poster isn’t cited but the work looks similar to posters done for The Santa Fe by Oscar Byrne, Willard Elms and Don Perceval around this time period. This poster is professionally backed to linen and in excellent condition overall with an expertly repaired short tear at the top edge faintly visible upon close examination.
