This vintage original poster was created by the artist Pierre Gilardeau O’Kley to help promote the reopening the Moulin Rouge nightclub in Paris following major renovations in the early 1950s undertaken by new owners Joseph and Louis Clerico. O’Kley depicts a glamorous dancer doing the Can-Can high kick that made this Paris entertainment venue famous the world over. O’Kley produced similar posters for Moulin Rouge and also the rival club Folies Bergere. The lower left hand corner is printed “Edit. Pub. C.M.M. TERRENTROY – Paris”.
This vintage original poster has been professionally linen backed and a couple small creases skillfully mitigated. The poster has a small spot near the upper left hand corner. Overall condition is very good.
