This vintage original poster was issued by Braniff International Airways to promote Peru as a travel destination. This colorful poster features the whimsical image of a bull as one of Braniff’s DC-6 propeller airliners flies by overhead all rendered in a delightful Mid-Century style. Text on the poster reads:
PERU Via Eastern Air Lines and Braniff International Airways
The bull has special meaning in Peruvian culture as seen with the ceramic Toritos de Pucara or Pucara Bulls often found in Peruvian homes or even on the roofs of homes to protect the inhabitants, bless marriages and bring prosperity.
This vintage original poster is unrestored and shows moderate handling wear including a few scuffs in places. The poster has a bit of tape staining along the upper and lower edges on the left side and small nick of the tip of the upper left hand corner. There are a few scattered small spots and a bit of foxing at the bottom of the poster. The poster still displays nicely with bold colors. Basic linen backing and minor touchup could get this poster looking almost like new. Overall condition is very good.
