This vintage original poster was issued by Braniff International Airways to promote Rio de Janeiro as a travel destination. This colorful poster features the stylized image of woman with fruit basket on her head dancing Sambalike as man behind her plays an atabaque style afro-Brazilian hand drum all rendered in a delightful Mid-Century style. This poster was issued in a few variations and this one featuring the propeller airliner travelling right to left is the earlier version. On later versions a jet airliner traveling left to right replaces the older prop aircraft and there are also some differences in the fonts and colors used.

This vintage original poster has been professionally linen backed and a tack hole on each corner has been expertly repaired. The poster had moderate handling wear including a scuffs and light scraps in places and moderate toning from age. The poster displays very nicely and overall condition is very good.
