This vintage original travel poster promoting Vienna as a travel destination was created by the artist Hermann Kosel (1896-1983) and issued in the early 1950s.  This poster features a Mid-Century impressionistic inspired street level view of the Vienna Staatsoper or Vienna State Opera House with Kosel's named signed in print in the lower right corner.   Kosel was prolific and versatile artist who produced many great travel posters for his native Austria in varied styles over his long career.  The lower margin indicates this poster was published by Fremdenverkehrsstelle der Stadt Wien and printed in Austria by Brüder Rosenbaum.

This vintage original poster has been professionally backed to linen with only minimal touchup as needed including expert repair to a short tear of about an inch on the lower right edge.  Overall condition is very good.
