This colorful Mid-Century travel poster was created by French artist Guy Georget for the Spanish State Tourist Department. A colorful display of Spanish guitar, a platter of oranges with clay vase and Spanish fan or Pericón as they are known are artfully arranged. Through an open window a lonely burro waits by a white stucco hacienda in the classic Mediterranean Revival style. Long shadows suggest its siesta time which perhaps explains why Georget didn’t include people in the image.
This poster isn’t dated but the lower margin is printed “519” which may indicate 1951. Also printed in the lower margin is “Imp. Fourier - Vitoria”. This is an unrestored vintage original poster in very good condition. The poster shows some bumping and couple small nicks along the left edge near the upper corner. There is a small pinhole size puncture on the left side near the base of the guitar and a short tear of about an inch on the lower edge. Overall condition is very good.
