This captivating poster was designed by Ennio Molinari for Alitalia, the national airline of Italy. Molinari’s design blends the ancient and modern worlds by depicting a jet airliner flying over a cluster of eloquent white buildings of traditional Iranian style. Architecture has long been recognized as a supreme form or Iranian art so using them in the poster design promoting Iran as a travel destination was a nature choice. The right margin is printed “ennio molinari APPIA”. The lower left hand corner indicates “printed in Italy” and the lower right hand corner indicates “Bodoniana - Bologna”. This poster is not dated but is a vintage original produced in the early to mid 1950s.

This hard to find poster has been professionally linen backed and some expert restoration to small amounts of paper loss along the left edge as well as repairs to a few short tears and other imperfections has been skillfully executed. Overall condition is very good.
