This vintage original poster was created by Dutch artist Reyn Dirksen for the Europe Canada Line and issued in the mid-1950s. For this poster Dirksen renders at Mid-Century Modern design of the Seven Seas ocean liner seemingly inspired by the Art Deco shipping posters of the prior generation. The Europe Canada Line was established in 1955 and operated two ocean liners including the Seven Seas seen here which was charted that same year.
This vintage original poster has been professionally linen backed with some touchup and repair as needed including a small area of replaced loss along the lower lefthand edge and repair to some abrasions along the lower righthand edge. A single piece of desiccated tape was removed from each corner and expertly touched up. The poster displays very nicely and overall condition is very good.
